I think that's great he was filming the crowd to always remember what it was like to be there.

The Daily Record has a look back at the opening ceremony and they have what James said:

11:02PM  "James McAvoy and Sir Chris Hoy finishing the ceremony now with a reminder of the Unicef campaign and the message: "Put children first."

11:03PM  CELTIC PARK: Craig McDonald: "Cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and actor James McAvoy onstage at the Games opening ceremony. Sir Chris says: "Glasgow you're amazing." And James yells: "Glasgow - I've never been prouder to be one of your sons - you're amazing." They're launching the Games' charity fundraising appeal for UNICEF. Such a charity link-up is a Games first and the crowd give it full backing.
